Tours Planned For The Alder Brook Cemetery

Guilford historian Tracy Tomaselli will conduct tours on Oct. 29 and 30.

GUILFORD, CT, Guilford genealogist and historian Tracy Tomaselli will give tours of the Alder Brook Cemetery on Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30.

The tour is free but Tomaselli is looking for donations to help repair some of the Boston Street cemetery’s older headstones. The cemetery’s budget for stone repair is currently $2,000 a year, but repair efforts are costly and ongoing.

In a Guilford Courier story, Tomaselli said that the cemetery’s graves are going to feature signs with biographical information. Each sign will also have a QR code so that smart phone users can scan them and listen to an audio about the person buried there.
