Town of Guilford Takes Over New High School Science Wing
The Board of Education will no longer hold ownership over the Guilford High School science wing.

Guilford High School and the Board of Education are handing over the reigns of the science wing to the town effective June 30, which will save the town about $600,000, according to the New Haven Register. The wing will be transformed into a facility for community and town use.
The new building’s first floor will be renovated into a community fitness center, occupied as a Park and Recreation facility, and the second floor will be used for town storage, the Register reported.
Discussion of transforming the science wing has gone on since the new high school was planned, according to the Register. The new $92 million high school will be ready for the start of the 2015-16 school year, since the project is operating on schedule and on budget.
