What are you thankful for?

First Graders at A.W. Cox Elementary School in Guilford shared what they are thankful for this year for Thanksgiving. Several of the classes created art projects to show what they are giving thanks for this year.

Nancy Stander's class created paper plate 'wreaths', while Maria Clark's class made an oversized turkey with decorative feathers to share what they are thankful for. Here's a few examples of what they said when they were asked to finish this sentence:

"I am thankful for..."

Family

My Home

Food

Being able to go to the Church I want to when people like the pilgrim's couldn't

My pets

My Grandma

Having lots of food when I know that other people don't

Animals

My Mom and Dad

Being able to live in a country where I can Vote

God

My Friends and Family

My Dog

My home is OK after the Hurricane
