1 Injured In Shooting In Hamden: Police

Police are investigating a shooting in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — One person was injured in a shooting Sunday night in Hamden, according to police.

Police responded around 10:55 p.m. on Aug. 10 to reports of shots fired in the area of Dixwell Avenue and Collins Street, according to Capt. Raymond Quinn.

Quinn said multiple Hamden police officers responded to the area to find a “large crowd gathered in the street.”

“Witnesses reported that a person had been shot but had driven themselves to the hospital,” Quinn wrote in a news release. “Hamden Police Officers later spoke with an individual at the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.”

Quinn said the person was listed in stable condition and is expected to survive.

Police are continuing to investigate the shooting.
