Can You Hear Us Now? Hamden To Rewire Council Chambers

Hamden will be rewiring its council chambers to beef up acoustics.

Hamden, CT -- Hamden has had enough of not being able to hear meetings in the council chambers and will soon be getting a new microphone system.

According to a report in The New Haven Register, the town announced this week it's seeking bids for a wired mic system for council chambers in Memorial Town Hall.

The current wireless microphone system has failed since the building was renovated a few years prior, according to the report.

The cost of a new system is unknown at the moment, The Register reports.

Currently, the police radio and cell phone towers cause the hall's microphones to shut down randomly, preventing folks in the hall from hearing the proceedings, according to the report.
