Hamden Man Arrested In Connection To Commercial Burglary In Norwalk: Police

A Hamden man was arrested in connection to a commercial burglary reported at a self storage facility in Norwalk, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man was arrested Wednesday in connection to a commercial burglary reported last year at a Norwalk self storage facility, according to Norwalk police.

In a news release, Police Lt. Tomasz Podgorski said the commercial burglary was reported at a Cubesmart Self Storage of Norwalk facility, located on Bouton Street, on July 1, 2024.

According to Podgorski, the investigation revealed 89 storage units had been entered and numerous items, including firearms, had been stolen.

Over the next year, police conducted an exhaustive investigation that included obtaining multiple search and seizure warrants, analyzing hours of video recordings and collaborating with other police departments to develop leads and identify suspects, Podgorski said.

As a result of the investigation, police identified Tylon Gardner, 35, of Hamden, as a suspect, according to Podgorski.

Gardner was arrested Wednesday on a warrant at Stamford Superior Court.

He was charged with five counts of third-degree burglary, five counts of conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny, third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, two counts of theft of a firearm and two counts of conspiracy to commit theft of a firearm.

His bond was set at $50,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to Podgorski.
