
A Hamden man arrested in May by New Haven police is now facing charges here in relation with the same incident.Â
Hamden Police recently charged Edward Chieppo, 26, of 14 Rockview Road, Hamden, with the sale of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.
According to Smith, on May 27Â Hamden Police assisted New Haven Police regarding an incident involving a Chieppo and a firearm

On that date, Officers Michael Cirillo and Justin Martin held Chieppo in his driveway while awaiting the arrival of New Haven Police, who arrested him, Smith said.Â
Investigating that incident, Hamden Police searched Chieppo's home and allegedly found a loaded 9mm handgun, shotgun, 214 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Smith said.

On July 7Â Officer Andrew Pfeiffer pulled over a car operated by Chieppo and arrested him on the strength of a warrant, Smith said.
Chieppo was held in lieu of $150,000 bond and was arraigned last week in Meriden Superior Court.
Chieppo also is facing weapon charges from the New Haven Police Department, Smith said. Â
