Hamden Man Threatened To Stab Store Manager During Confrontation: North Haven PD
The man was arrested on a warrant, according to police.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Hamden man is accused of threatening to stab the store manager of a cellphone store in North Haven with a knife during a confrontation in late 2023, according to North Haven police.
Police said North Haven officers responded in December 2023 to a cellphone store on Universal Drive on the report of a man with a knife.
Juan Alvarez, 31, of Hamden, was accused of stealing property the previous week and was recognized by store staff when he returned, according to police.

A confrontation ensued and police said Alvarez pulled a knife from his pocket and threatened to stab the store manager.
Police said Alvarez was located on Tuesday, July 22, and taken into custody with the assistance of the East Haven Police Department.

Alvarez was charged with second-degree threatening, reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor, breach of peace, and carrying a dangerous weapon. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Tuesday morning, according to police.
