The Academy of Kempo Martial Arts is raising money for the Pennies for Patients program.

The Academy of Kempo Martial Arts has joined forces with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise money through the Pennies for Patients program.
The mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
LLS is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. LLS funds life saving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services. Their key priorities include helping blood cancer patients live better, longer lives.
The Academy has a goal to raise $250 dollars by the end of April.
“Our students here at the Academy have been very receptive to the program and are bringing in donations on a weekly basis,” said Frank Ciarleglio, Master Instructor at the Academy. “I am giving out rewards to the students for their participation, such as stickers for $1 or more, a tote bag for over $10 collected and having a competition with a special prize for the person who collects the most donations. These prizes are also available to non- students if they would like to stop in with a donation.”
The Academy of Kempo is located at 1890 Dixwell Ave. and welcomes anyone who would like to help. Stop in or call 203 288-9990 for more information.
