Hamden Native Earns Historic NHL Win With NY Rangers
Jonathan Quick became the first U.S. born goalie to reach 400 career NHL victories with Sunday's win.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden native Jonathan Quick made history Sunday night, becoming the first U.S. born NHL goalie to reach 400 career victories in the New York Rangers’ 4-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Quick, who helped lead the Los Angeles Kings to two Stanley Cup championships, is in his second season with the New York Rangers.
With Sunday’s win, Quick became the 15th goaltender overall to reach 400 career victories, and the first American-born goalie to reach the milestone.

Quick, 39, told reporters after the game that the historic win means that he’s “been lucky enough to play with a lot of great hockey players who value winning and put that above all else,” according to the Associated Press. “I’m just grateful that I have been on some great teams over the course of my career, this one included here.”
