Hamden Officials Responding To Residents' Concerns Over Tree Removal, Replacement
Residents want the mayor to address the DEEP's actions.

Hamden, CT - The state's removal of a beloved, old hickory tree in Hamden has sparked outrage since February, and now town officials are hoping a letter to the governor will help the town's pursuit to replace the tree.
According to a report in The New Haven Register, Hamden Legislative Council has asked Mayor Curt Balzano Leng to contact the governor.
The council wants the mayor to send a letter to "'Gov. Dannel P. Malloy about how DEEP Commissioner Robert Klee allegedly spoke to a member of the West Rock Park Association during discussions about possibly replacing the tree,'" The New Haven Register reports.
