Hamden Resident Commits To Graduate School At Yale University

Ava Albis will first complete her undergraduate degree at Saint Michael's College.

Ava Albis of Hamden, CT, recently committed to attending graduate school at Yale University after she earns her undergraduate degree from Saint Michael’s College in Vermont in May 2023. Albis has been accepted in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences PhD program at Yale, and she will be on the Molecular, Cellular Biology, Genetics and Development track through which she will get to work on cutting-edge projects with world-renowned scientists.

Albis is a Biology major and Chemistry minor at Saint Michael’s College and has had the opportunity to engage in grant-funded research through a fellowship from the Vermont Biomedical Research Network. She has been studying the cell biological mechanisms for rare immunodeficiency, and she recently presented her work at the American Society for Cell Biology meeting in Washington D.C. in December 2022. Albis is also a member of the Saint Michael’s Women’s Tennis Team, and she has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll each year she has participated.
