School administration said they received a report that students had discovered images of the staff member on an adult website.

HAMDEN, CT — A faculty member at Hamden Middle School was put on leave this week while administrators investigate a report that images of the staff member appear on an adult website.

On Tuesday, Principal Michelle G. Coogan sent a letter to parents about the situation.

According to Coogan, on Monday, school administration received a report that students had discovered images of the staff member on an adult website, and these images were shared between some students.

“We also ask that you monitor your child’s personal technology, including photographs, internet searches, and social media activity, and encourage families to have open conversations about how to respond if children encounter harmful or inappropriate materials online,” Coogan wrote, in the letter to parents. “By working together, we can help protect our children and guide them in becoming responsible digital citizens.”

Coogan encouraged parents to reach out to administrators with any concerns or if their children need support.
