Liquor Store Could Make Move to Hamden Mart
With an amendment, a liquor store could move into a new location.
Hamden, CT - From toys to wine, the empty storefront which was previously a Toys R Us will now be a liquor store in Hamden.
According to a report in The New Haven Register, Wine Merchants can move from its current space next to Wal-Mart to the old Toys R Us space, thanks to the town's Legislative Council passing an amendment to the liquor laws.
The old toy store building will be split into two retail spaces, one for Wine Merchants and one for a store to be determined, according to the report.

Thanks to the amendment, Wine Merchants is allowed to operate less than 800 feet from the North Mart Package Store, The Register reports.
The shop's old space will be rented to a new business.
