Local Woman Awarded $4000 Grant From International Women’s Organization

IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 2, 2025…Jennifer Soto of Branford, Connecticut received a $4000 grant to continue her education and complete an MBA in Business Analytics at Southern Connecticut State University.
The grant was awarded by Chapter A, New Haven of PEO International, a women’s philanthropic educational organization headquartered in Ames, Iowa (www.peointernational.org). The grant is through the Program for Continuing Education (PCE) for women, no matter the circumstances, who had to leave their educational pursuits for at least 24 months and will complete their education within 18 months. Since 1973, more than $79 million dollars has been awarded through PEO’s Program for Continuing Education. Grant winners are selected by a national PEO panel of judges.

Jennifer was raised by a single father who was physically handicapped and encouraged “Jenn” to “reach for the stars” when it came to her education and career. Jenn is employed at Marrakech (https://www.marrakechinc.org). A Connecticut nonprofit, Marrakech provides residential, employment, referral and advocacy to individuals with disabilities. Marrakech also services 22 group homes in the state.
During the pandemic, Jenn was tasked with bringing their formerly in person 80 member administrative workforce to a remote, online platform. As a result, Marrakech was awarded a $500,000 technology grant from the State of Connecticut to replace and upgrade electronic devices and networks. Jenn is currently Vice President of Information Systems & Technology. She is married with three daughters and will complete her degree at SCSU in Spring, 2026.
