Music on the New Haven Green: Dueling Divas

UPDATE: Because of the heat, the show has been moved indoors to the Shubert Theater. 

The Mariachi Academy of Connecticut will open the show at 6 p.m., followed by the NHSO at 7 p.m. The performance is still free and open to the public, and seats will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. Park New Haven is offering parking in the Crown Street and Temple Street Garages for $3 during the concerts.

 The NHSO will be also be hosting their “Instrumental Petting Zoo” at the Shubert Theater, and partnering with New Haven Reads to provide books and indoor activities for children.

Join us this Saturday, July 20 for NHSO's Music on the Green - Dueling Divas! 

Music on the Green heats up this weekend, as Music Director William Boughton leads the orchestra while opera divas Jamilyn Manning-White and Toby Newman launch fireworks of vocal virtuosity, singing familiar tunes from The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Carmen.

Date: Saturday, July 20 at 7:00pm, with opening act - the Mariachi Academy of Connecticut - at 6:00pm

Location: New Haven Green, 165 Church Street

Food: Bring a picnic basket or visit the food trucks on Temple Street

Just for Kids: Our Instrument Discovery Zone will be available for children to toot, tickle, and try various orchestral instruments!.

Weather: In case of inclement weather, you will receive an email notifying you by1:00pm on Saturday. Rain space for the concert is Woolsey Hall, 500 College Street, New Haven.
