North Haven Man Held after Police Chase
Hamden police join North Haven in chase that spanned the two communities.

A 40-year-old North Haven man was arrested Friday night after leading police on a chase through the two towns.
Hamden police reportedly spotted Jason R. Torello acting suspiciously near East Rock Park and attempted to pull him over, according to police.
Instead Torello allegedly took off, with police chasing him through Hamden to North Haven and then back into Hamden.

Torello lost control of his car on the Route 40 connector that leads to I-95. At that point he tried to hit two of the police cars following him, police said.
According to North Haven police, Torello was stopped on Route 40 where he allegedly fought the arresting officers, assaulting one.

Torello was charged with reckless driving, engaging an officer in pursuit, assault on an officer, interfering with an officer and tampering with evidence.
Torello will appear in Meriden Superior Court on December 2. Bond was set in the amount $50,000.
