Obituary: Carl F. Sanca 74, of Hamden
Carl, a dedicated family man, was an award-winning car salesman, avid car enthusiast, animal lover and devoted member of the community.

HAMDEN, CT - (From Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home) Carl F. Sanca 74, of Hamden, passed away Feb. 2, 2022 at his home. Carl was born in New Haven, CT January 14th, 1948, son of Carmen & Susan Ruggiero Sanca of Hamden.
Carl graduated from Hamden High School and married his High School sweetheart, Linda May Badale Sanca. They were happily married for 53 years. He began working for his father who owned and operated Automotive Repair Shops in Hamden.
During those years he developed his love of Classic & Muscle cars. An avid car collector, Carl was a proud member of ‘Connecticut Classic Chevy’ car club. He worked for Bell Power Systems formerly known as Bell Detroit Diesel for over 30 years.
Carl received many awards during his career for being the company’s top salesman. Carl had many hobbies and interests throughout his lifetime including shooting pool, coaching youth sports, playing softball, vacationing in Florida, cruise nights, corvettes, Mickey Mantle, New York Yankees, watching his five grandchildren play ice hockey and figure skate.
He loved dogs and rescued many, including his last, Rosie.
Carl was a kind person who mentored and helped many people during his life.
He will be immensely missed by family and friends. Carl is survived by his wife Linda, son James (Mia)Sanca, Grandchildren Angel, Jonathan, Matthew, Sarah, and Carmen Sanca. Brothers Joe (Gladys)Sanca and Pete Sanca. Nephews Bobby (Nancy)Sanca, Michael (Mary Grace) Sanca, Peter (Bree)Sanca and Niece Lisa (Chris) Consorte. Carl was predeceased by his parents Carmen and Susan Sanca, brother Robert Sanca, and son Steve Sanca.
Friends are invited to attend a parlor service Tuesday at 10:30AM in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, l022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, and may call Tuesday from 8:00 to 10:30AM. Interment will follow in St. Mary's cemetery.
