Obituary: Sylvester "Sal" Botte, 66, of Hamden
Sal, known as a hard worker and devoted family man, owned and operated the Sherman Heights Bakery in Hamden for many years.

HAMDEN, CT - (From Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home) Sylvester (Sal) Botte, 66, of Hamden, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 22, 2021.
For over 20 years, Sal owned and operated Sherman Heights Bakery in Hamden and was proud to be a small business owner in the community.
Sal is predeceased by his parents, John and Johanna (Kreckel) Botte and his brother, John Botte.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Geraldine (Lavorgna) Botte of Hamden, his daughter and son-in-law, Jen and Bryan Reynolds of Tennessee, his beloved granddaughters, Mia and Mackenzie Reynolds of Tennessee, his brother and sister-in-law, Ron Bott and Joan Clark of Maine and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Cheri Lavorgna of North Carolina.
Sal worked hard all his life for his family and there was nothing that he couldn’t fix with something he had in the garage.
He cherished every minute that he spent with his granddaughters and enjoyed spending time with his family in Rhode Island.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service WEDNESDAY July 28th at 10:30 A.M. in the Peter H. Torello & Son F.H., 1022 Dixwell Ave. Hamden.
Calling hours will be from 8:30 - 10 :30 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
