Police Search for Man Responsible for Home Invasion, Sexual Assault
A man broke into a Linden Avenue home early Sunday morning and sexually assaulted the woman who lives there, according to police.

Police are searching for the man responsible for a home invasion and sexual assault that happened early Sunday morning on Linden Avenue.
At about 4:30 a.m., police got a report of the incident, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith. Responding officers learned that the woman who lives in the residents had woken up in her bedroom to find that a man, described as Hispanic, about 5'6" with a stocky build, on top of her sexually assaulting her, Smith said.
When she screamed for help, the man strangled and punched her in the face repeatedly, Smith said, and as he continued to assault her, he also continued to threaten to kill her while choking her repeatedly.
Before he left the home, the man put a sheet over the woman's head, Smith said.
Officers determined that the man forced his way into the house, Smith said. The woman was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment. Her condition was not released Monday.
