A handbag was taken from the vehicle, Smith said, and in the bag was a wallet that contained several credit cards. The cards were then used during the early morning hours Wednesday at a Sunoco gas station on Frontage Road in East Haven, Smith said.
Police released a surveillance photograph taken at the gas station showing the suspect who is described as a white male with a beard and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the letters C.O.D. imprinted on it, Smith said. He was driving a black Infiniti FX35 SUV with either a Virginia or Massachusetts license plate, Smith said.
