Popular Eatery Closing After ‘Amazing Run’ In Hamden, Owners Announce
The owners announced that the restaurant will be closing soon.
HAMDEN, CT — A popular eatery will be closing its doors after more than 12 years in business in Hamden.
The owners of Brgrko announced in a post on social media Friday that the location at 3000 Whitney Avenue is coming to a close. They are downsizing to focus on their other business, Mikro Depot, according to a post on Instagram.
“It’s with mixed emotions I write to everyone that our time at 3000 Whitney Ave in Hamden is drawing to a close,” reads the post, which was signed by Michael and Jacqueline Farber and addressed to all Mikro, Brgrko employees. “After almost 13 years in this space, it will be a difficult transition, but both my wife and I feel it is time to downsize and focus on Mikro Depot.

“We want to thank all the employees and amazing guests who have been there through good times and difficult times. We will be wrapping up in the next few weeks and hope you all get a chance to stop by, share a drink, memory, or meal as we end an amazing run. A new unaffiliated group will be announced soon, and they will be taking over and continuing the legacy of 3000 Whitney.”
BrgrKo by MiKro is described as its website as “serving a wide array of tasty burgers, smoked wings, cheesy tots and more. Full bar concentrating on Whiskey pours. Check out well crafted cocktails and a whole bunch of beer!”

Mikro Depot, located at 0 Depot Avenue in Hamden, is described as “serving a great lineup of craft beers, small plates & heartier fare,” according to its website. “Located right on the rail trail. Bike friendly. Indoor / outdoor seating.”
