Robber Takes Cash from Whitney Avenue Shell

During the early morning robbery Friday, the man implied that he had a gun, according to police.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the man who robbed the Shell Food Mart at the intersection of Whitney Avenue and Skiff Street early Friday morning.

At about 3:15 a.m. Friday a black man approximately 5’8’’ tall, about 40 –50 years old, with a bald head wearing a black vest with a goatee with grey whiskers robbed the store insinuating that he had a gun, according to Lt. Timothy Wydra.

"The man fled the store toward Skiff Street, where it is believed that the man had a vehicle parked behind the building," Wydra said in a release. "Attempts are being made to collect video evidence from Shell and also Krausers across the street."
