Scam Targets Businesses In Hamden
The Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce is warning businesses of a scam that has been reported in town.
HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce is warning businesses of a scam email that is posing as the chamber.
The message claims to be part of a “veteran initiative” requesting five $100 Foot Locker gift cards for veterans in hospice care, according to a post on the Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page:

Several members have received this email and notified us, and one member purchased gift cards believing it was a legitimate request. We are currently assisting them in getting the funds refunded.
Please stay vigilant, look at the email it's coming from — always verify unusual requests by calling or emailing the Chamber directly before responding.
