Is the nominee considered an “essential worker”?:

Yes

What does the nominee do for work?:
Registered Nurse

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Heather has always been a caring and compassionate Nurse who goes above and beyond to make her patients and families feel that they matter. She goes the extra mile to comfort those in need and will do everything in her power to advocate for her patients. She often spends extra time with her patients to make sure they understand everything that is happening and the need for the tests and procedures.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Heather works in the outpatient clinic at Yale New Haven Hospital and when the pandemic started she was asked if she would be willing to leave the safety of the clinic and be on the front lines testing people for COVID-19. Without hesitation she said yes. For the past 6-7 weeks she has been administering these tests. While doing this she is putting herself at greater risk for catching the virus day in and day out. She is not only a hero to me, she is a hero to our 3 sons as well.
