She ‘Strives For Excellence’: Hamden Star Student

HAMDEN, CT — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

8th grade

How do you know the star local student?

I know this young lady because I work at her school as the front desk clerk. Also I know her parents, who are former students of Hamden High School, where I worked for over 25 years. Both of her parents are hard working parents, who strive for success. Also they have instilled morals and values in their daughter at such a young age. Also mom and dad were very athletic, back in the day. That why their daughter Sasha is so involved in her daily sports and her school environment, at Hamden Middle School in Hamden Ct, the principal is Michelle Coogan.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

I feel that Sasha should be nominated first and foremost because she is one talented student from Hamden Middle School, in Hamden Connecticut. Also Sasha has two phenomenal parents who make sure their daughter has all her needs and supports her on any journey she is striving for. Sasha works so hard at her school work, her involvement in daily sports, and overall her community involvement. Sasha strives for excellence in areas of her life. The most important reason why I wanted to spread light on her is because out of 800 children at Hamden Middle School Sasha has a smile that can brighten a day for anyone, including myself. Sasha I feel should be nominated because she is one in a million young ladies who is striving in life to make a difference in everyone life. I honor and support Sasha on this nomination .

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

The one thing which I want everyone to know is that Sasha never gives up. She strives for excellence everyday.
