ShopRite Offers Unique Health and Wellness Experience at the Supermarket

HAMDEN, CT – Customers can now receive complimentary health and wellness advice, counseling and meal planning courtesy of the supermarket’s newest in-store Registered Dietitian, Grace Glennon, MS, RD, CD-N.

“We’re so pleased to welcome Ms. Glennon to our team here at ShopRite,” says Harry Garafalo, who operates the ShopRite of Hamden along with ShopRite stores in Milford, East Haven, Stratford and West Haven, CT. “Ms. Glennon is a wonderful source of knowledge and an incredible asset to our staff. Her passion, expertise and excitement for health and wellness will surely benefit our customers, our associates and the entire community at large.”

In her role as a retail dietitian, Ms. Glennon provides complimentary health and wellness services that guide customers on a range of issues, from learning how to shop and prepare healthy meals, to proper nutrition for specific health conditions and dietary needs. Ms. Glennon also offers recipes with healthy alternatives, provides information on pantry makeovers, and navigates the aisles with shoppers to help them better understand food labels. In addition, Ms. Glennon partners with local hospitals, schools and non-profits to conduct free health and wellness-focused workshops and seminars.

A native of Milford, CT, Ms. Glennon received her undergraduate and master degree at the University of Connecticut in Allied Health Sciences. Before joining ShopRite, she worked as a research assistant and a clinical dietitian in a long-term care facility. Currently a resident of Middletown, CT, Ms. Glennon includes among her hobbies, playing sports, hiking, and cooking.

As part of ShopRite’s in-store dietitian team, Ms. Glennon is one of more than 130 Retail Dietitians serving ShopRite customers in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland.
