Unique Donut Shop Has ‘Mighty’ Reopening In Hamden
Mighty Donuts recently reopened in a new location and the results have been better than expected, according to its owner.
HAMDEN, CT — One month after reopening in their new home, Mighty Donuts owner Yericka Estrada said things are going better than expected at the new location.
“The new store has been amazing,” she said.
The unique mini donut shop closed its original location at 1166 Dixwell Ave. in Hamden on Jan. 26.

“We decided to move because we wanted to provide a safer environment to our clients and employees, better lighting, parking spaces etc.,” Estrada said. “We listened to our clients' suggestions and we decided it was time for a change.”
That change came quickly, as Mighty Donuts reopened at 1700 Dixwell Ave. in Hamden a little more than two weeks after closing.

And, while they only moved a few miles down the road on Dixwell Avenue, the change has been noticeable, according to Estrada.
“At this location, we have parking spaces which makes a big difference from the other spot,” she said. “A lot of new clients mentioned that they couldn’t stop at the old store due to the lack of parking spaces.”
Estrada said they still have their regular customers that come to the store, along with a “lot of new clients that didn't know about us and now they love Mighty Donuts.”
During the search for a new location, Estrada said they looked at different retail stores and had two potential stores.
“One in East Haven and one in Hamden, but deep inside we didn't want to leave our town,” she said.
“Thank God we were accepted at 1700 Dixwell,” Estrada said. “It is a small plaza with a bunch of great businesses, good people, nice environment, and the clients are loving it and us, too.”
Estrada said they’ve brought their regular menu and offerings to the new store, but recently added Dubai chocolate, and are now serving Dubai mini donuts and strawberries cups.
Mighty Donuts also started offering 10 percent off any donut purchase to students that bring their school ID on Wednesdays, according to Estrada.
Estrada is grateful for the support Mighty Donuts has received since opening in late 2022.
“Thank you for everyone that has supported Mighty Donuts in any way, especially our Hamden people,” she said.
