HAMDEN, CT — An expanded Walmart is among the several new projects planned in Hamden, according to multiple reports.

The New Haven Register reports Walmart plans to take over part of the neighboring former Bob’s Stores on Dixwell Avenue to expand its existing store.

The plans call for Walmart adding about 60,000 square feet by demolishing part of the former Bob’s Stores space, according to the Register.

The Connecticut Scoop reports the expanded Walmart supercenter will include a full-service grocery department.

Other new planned projects include a Five Below discount store and a Robeks smoothie shop in the Hamden Plaza, according to the Connecticut Scoop.
