East Hartford Man Charged In 2024 Hartford Crash
Police said the 24-year-old suspect fled the scene of an accident that involved a stolen vehicle in March 2024.

EAST HARTFORD/HARTFORD, CT — An East Hartford man has been charged in connection with an accident last year in Hartford involving a stolen motor vehicle.
According to Connecticut State Police, Divary Hernandez, 24, of East Hartford, was charged Monday, April 21, with evading the scene of an accident; violation of large-capacity magazine laws; larceny of a motor vehicle; and criminal possession of a firearm/ammunition.
Police said he is out on $275,000 bond and he will appear in Hartford Superior Court on May 9.

State police said Hernandez turned himself into Troop H in Hartford on Monday, April 21, at 11:20 p.m. on an active warrant for his arrest.
According to police, the warrant for Hernandez was issued in connection with a three-car motor vehicle accident on March 31, 2024, on Interstate 84 in Hartford involving a stolen motor vehicle.

"Through DNA samples obtained, troopers were able to determine that Hernandez was the operator of the stolen motor vehicle and fled the scene following the collision," police said in a statement released Wednesday.
Police said a search of the vehicle revealed numerous guns and firearm accessories, which Hernandez was prohibited from possessing.
As a result, police said, Hernandez was subsequently processed on multiple charges.
