EAST HARTFORD, CT — If you have a hankering to purchase a school site, a deal could be made to do just that in East Hartford.
The former St. Rose Catholic School site in East Hartford is for sale for $1.6 million, according to Amadio & Co. Real Estate out of New Britain.
A developer interested in purchasing the school is purchasing a complete campus, as the 8.98-acre site includes four total buildings and multiple addresses on Church Street.

According to the listing, the property includes a 23,504-square-foot school building, a 5,801-square-foot church hall, and a 3,686-square-foot rectory building.
While the St. Rose Catholic School closed in 2010 due to declining enrollment, the church itself closed in June 2024.

The school site was last leased to the Capital Region Education Council for use as a magnet school before it moved into a permanent location.
"This campus is perfect for college, residential education, child care, adult day care, adaptive reuse, institutional, community, corporate, artistic, R&D, innovation, life sciences, biotech industries, healthcare research, education, energy, defense, aerospace, or technology," reads the real estate listing for the property.
Other property features include a gymnasium, classrooms, and offices.
While the prior use was for a church, the listing states the property "may not" be used as a church.
