Hartford Symphony Orchestra Presents 'The Music of U2'

From Hartford Symphony Orchestra: The Hartford Symphony Orchestra takes a musical journey spanning four decades of monster hits with The Music of U2 on March 18, 2017 at 7:30 pm at The Bushnell in Hartford, CT. Conductor Richard Carsey, singer Brody Dolyniuk and a full rock band join the HSO to celebrate the four decades-long career of one of the world’s dominant rock bands. This concert takes the audience on a journey through the band’s many hits including “With or Without You,” “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” “Pride (In the Name of Life),” “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” “Desire,” “One” and many more.

About Brody Dolyniuk

Brody Dolyniuk remembers mimicking voices even as a child, listening to old records and tapes. He is a gifted, self-taught musician, capable of playing several instruments, with a particular knack for capturing the voices and mannerisms of classic characters from music, TV, and movies.

His first professional gigs were at piano bars in several U.S. cities, where he learned to charm audiences and expand his musical repertoire. With a longing to perform the music of the many rock bands that inspired him, Brody assembled Yellow Brick Road, unquestionably Las Vegas' most successful classic rock band. Since 1997, YBR has been reshaping the casino entertainment scene by bringing a rock concert atmosphere to showrooms previously reserved for Top-40-style lounge acts. Along the way, Brody has made numerous radio and TV appearances, and earned a spot in the finals of two national singing competitions, and even self-produced several large rock production-style shows utilizing multimedia, lasers, comedy and special effects.

About Richard Carsey

Richard Carsey is a conductor, arranger, pianist, and actor. He is currently conductor for the longest-running musical in history, The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. National tours include Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Phantom in 2014-2015, the Broadway revival of La Cage Aux Folles with George Hamilton, and the musical Little House on the Prairie with Melissa Gilbert. Also on Broadway, he was Music Supervisor of The House of Blue Leaves with Ben Stiller, and Musical Director for Joshua Schmidt’s musical A Minister’s Wife at Lincoln Center Theater. Internationally, he has performed as pianist and conductor in such exotic locales as Lima, Athens, Barcelona, Islamabad, and Kuwait. Richard enjoyed a long association with the Skylight Opera Theatre in Milwaukee, WI as Principal Conductor, and for nine seasons was Artistic Director. Highlights include the world premiere and television broadcast of Richard Wargo’s opera Ballymore; a PBS broadcast of The Mikado; and the world premiere of the opera The Rivals by Kirke Mechem.
