• Kent wetlands dispute nears settlement agreement (lakevillejournal.com) — Kent officials and KenMont and KenWood LLC are close to settling a long-running dispute over an unpermitted roadway and dock through wetlands on North Spectacle Pond. The draft agreement would ban vehicle traffic, require invasive-species management, and allow regular inspections while the log roadway is gradually reclaimed by the landscape, pending final court approval.
   

• Region One enrollment drops 4% from last year (lakevillejournal.com) — Kent’s elementary school enrollment has inched up to 201 students even as overall Region One enrollment dropped 4% this year, which will influence how much the town pays toward the regional school budget. Region One officials are now building next year’s spending plan, with a draft due March 9, a public hearing April 9, and a district-wide budget referendum in May.
