Ledyard Student One of 13 to Win Chelsea Groton Bank Scholarships

Congratulations, Victoria Wolfe of Ledyard High School!

Chelsea Groton Bank is delighted to announce the winners of the 2012 Chelsea Groton Bank scholarship.  Thirteen outstanding high school seniors -- Tori among the 13 -- who excelled academically and volunteered time and talent to improve this community were each awarded a $500 scholarship to support his or her pursuit of higher education. 

Funded by Chelsea Groton Bank, the scholarship program supports local students so that they may continue their education after high school. The Bank has a long-standing history of supporting the local community through donations of time, talent, and money; this program supports students who demonstrate the same commitment. 

At the award presentation, Community Education Officer Pam Luketich, welcomed the students and their families, remarking that she recognized many faces in the audience from the annual Money Madness Seminar and personal finance classes she teaches at their high schools.

Bank President and CEO Michael Rauh commended the scholarship winners for their academic achievements.  He also thanked the award recipients for their volunteer work and their contributions to the community in which we all live, work, and play, prior to presenting each student with a $500 scholarship.

The scholarships were awarded to: Isabella Gauthier of Academy of the Holy Family, Nathan Zhau of East Lyme High School, Catarina Broccoli of Fitch High School, Luisanna Cabrera of Grasso Technical High School, Dayna Hedman of Griswold High School, Victoria Wolfe of Ledyard High School, Kerrie St. Denis of Montville High School, Laura Bonneau of New London High School, Rebecca Smolenski of Norwich Free Academy, Matthew Ying of Norwich Technical High School, Emily Rubin of Stonington High School, Stacy Weng of Waterford High School, and Tessa Roy of Wheeler High School.
