Foxwoods Hotel Closed Since Pandemic Will Reopen

A hotel right next to the resort casino closed due to the pandemic but will get new life in the near future.

LEDYARD, CT — The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has announced that a hotel near Foxwoods will reopen in the spring.

The Two Trees Inn has been closed since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The property's reopening reflects "the region's strong recovery and renewed focus on hospitality and tourism," according to a statement from the tribe.

The Waterford Hotel Group will operate the property, which was built in 1993 and includes 280 rooms. The hotel group will oversee pre-opening preparations, including staff recruitment, training, and planning.

"The return of Two Trees Inn not only expands our lodging options for guests but also supports new employment opportunities and continued economic growth for our community," Rodney Butler, chairman of the Mashantucket Pequot Nation, said in a statement.
