Breast Cancer Boutique Now Certified to Fit Your Needs

The Pink Mermaid...a Mastectomy Boutique, located in Groton, is pleased to announce that Carol Ryall has been awarded the designation of CMF–Certified Mastectomy Fitter through BOC - Board of Certification.  

A BOC CMF is an individual trained and qualified to measure, fit, dispense and adjust external breast prostheses, bras, and related supplies. Mastectomy fitting is the practice, pursuant to a physician's order, of addressing medical conditions of the upper extremities and post-mastectomy surgical outcomes.  

Drawing on knowledge of upper extremity musculoskeletal and lymphatic composition, the Mastectomy Fitter may measure, fit and adjust external breast prostheses, bras and related supplies appropriate to the conditions presented. Once certified, a CMF must meet continuing education and annual renewal requirements to maintain BOC certification.      

Carol Ryall has also held  the designation of BOC COF - Certified Orthotic Fitter - since 2002. She has attended advanced training and is an Amoena Advanced Fit Specialist for mastectomy products. She also is a Mastectomy Fitter for Camp, Trulife and Airway mastectomy products.  

Lymphedema is another area she specializes in with her certification from Jobst as an Elvarex Certified Fitter for Custom Lymphedema Garments. In addition, she is a Certified Fitter for Custom Vascular Garments from Jobst.
