Car Recovered From Water At Ledyard Wharf

A car was found submerged in the water Monday afternoon.

LEDYARD, CT — Crews removed a car that had gone into the water at Stoddard Wharf in Gales Ferry on Monday afternoon.

The Taftville/Yantic dive team requested mutual aid at 2:45 p.m. for a report of a car in the water, according to a post from Taftville Fire Co. #2.

Divers confirmed that there was no one in the car.

Divers rigged the car for removal and the vehicle was removed, fire officials said.

It wasn't immediately clear how the car ended up in the water.
