Celebrate Pi Day and Spread Awareness for LEAF
The i5 Teaching Network and Ledyard Education Advancement Foundation are celebrating Pi Day at the Gales Ferry Community Center today.
The i5 Teaching Network is working with LEAF (Ledyard Education Advancement Foundation) to celebrate Pi (remember from your school days, Pi = 3.1459to infinity?) and to raise awareness of, and hopefully a few bucks for, LEAF. The organization supports Ledyard schools and teachers with grants for materials, equipment, and programs that are not part of the school budget.
Marge Anderson invites the public to the Gales Ferry Community Center today for a slice of pizza pie plus a slice of dessert pie or raspberry square (Pi R squared) plus a beverage for $3.14. If you don’t want dessert, you are welcome to take two slices of pizza instead or dessert. Anderson plans on having a limited amount of gluten-free pizza as well.

The pizza is from Fireside, the raspberry squares are from Felicia’s SweetFace Pastry Shoppe, and the pies are donated from Holmberg’s, Gracie Mae’s Kitchen in Jewett City, and homemade.
One thing if you decide to go, and especially if you are bringing friends, Anderson said “it would be helpful to let us know the time frame – lunch Noon – 2, Mid-afternoon 2 – 4pm, or early evening 4-6pm. It is hard to judge how much pizza to have on hand throughout the day.”
