Daily Five: Last Chance To Get Your Taxes Prepared For Free By AARP

1. Get your rain boots out. NOAA.gov says today there is “a slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 60” and tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low around 35.

2. The Town of Ledyard will be conducting street sweeping operations through the month of May. Residents are asked to remove vehicles and other objects in the road shoulders along their frontage between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM on weekdays.

3. Today’s the last day the is offering free tax preparation. The service is provided by AARP and is available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call (860) 464-0471 to make an appointment.

4. The Town of Ledyard received and now everyone’s wondering if time capsules buried by Gales Ferry school students will be unearthed. Do you know anyone who buried a time capsule? Did they stray beyond school property and bury it where CVS plans to build?
