1. Yesterday and today began the slow transition to a nice weather weekend. Today is forecast to be sunny, with a high near 69 and tonight may be mostly clear, with a low around 50, according to the National Weather Service. This weekend is forecast to be sunny with a high around 71 on both days.
2. In case you didn’t hear the Ledyard Idol contest is tonight. Ledyard students are willing to sing their hearts out to raise money for the American Heart Association. The contest is at the high school at 7 p.m. Profiles for , and r, , , and were profiled this week.

3. Monday is the , Tuesday is the town-wide referendum and, purportedly, the Town Council is going to set the mill rate Wednesday.
4. PTO members of the Ledyard Center School are having a , proceeds will benefit the school and PTO activities.

5. The will be honoring servicemen and women and their families on Armed Forces Sunday, May 20th. The Sunday Services at 8:30 and 10:30 AM will continue the activities of Armed Forces Week. All area military families, whether a member of the church family or not, and guests are welcome and encouraged to attend this special tribute. The 10:30 AM service will be followed by a reception and coffee hour in the JoAnn Koe Fellowship Hall.
