Perhaps of all the guest lecturers one could invite on Earth Day, Winston Averill of the Southeastern Connecticut Regional Resource Recovery Authority would be the most apt of all. Unofficially the "King of Compost" Averill visited with nursery school students to talk about recycling. He explained why it's a great thing to do and showed them how cool it is that a plastic laundry detergent bottle can be turned into a vest!
