Evacuations Recommended for Riverside Residents
Gales Ferry riverside residents are asked to leave while they still have daylight.
Households on lower Military Highway, Mulberry Drive, and the lower units in the Williamsburg Condominiums off Route 12 are recommended to evacuate, said Mayoral Assistant Mark Bancroft. He said the recommendation is based on the projected high tides, which are are projected to be four- to six-feet higher than they are today.
High tide in New London is at 9:27 p.m. and residents on low-lying areas near the river should leave before it gets dark.
