H.O.P.E. Garden Helps Other People Eat
Community gardeners in Gales Ferry donate more produce to Ledyard Food Pantry.
The behind the former Gales Ferry School delivered 11 lbs. of fresh produce to the Ledyard Food Pantry last week and gardeners expect to be up to their elbows in peppers anytime now. Previously, the gardeners had delivered 36 lbs "of the light stuff", meaning leafy greens, to the food pantry, according to Gayle Wilson, one of the crew at the garden.
This delivery had some squash and zuccini.

Doris Fonner, of the Ledyard Food Pantry, said the fresh produce is very much appreciated by her clients and the gardeners efforts align perfectly with the pantry's and the United Way's goals to provide wholesome and nutritious food products to Ledyard families.
