Inmate Escape From York, Full Scale Search Under Way
Escaped inmate was serving 51 month sentence for robbery.

From the Department of Corrections:
A full scale search is underway for a female inmate who escaped from the York Correctional Institution in Niantic early on Sunday morning.
At approximately 6:16 a.m. the facility was placed in lock down and an emergency count was ordered when correctional officers reported that an inmate was missing during breakfast in the facility dining hall.
The offender, identified as Lori Beyus, #347491, age 49, is from Torrington, CT. Beyus last entered the system on November 2, 2012 as a temporary surrender for the charge of Robbery 2nd. She is currently serving a 51 month sentence.
The escape is considered a walk away as Beyus was housed on the minimum security side of the facility, which is not totally secured by a fence.
Emergency notification to local and state officials and members of the public was early Sunday morning via the State’s CT Alert system. Anyone with information about this inmate is asked to notify state or local police.
