Ledyard Mayor Honors Former Resident Trooper For Service

Connecticut State Police Sergeant Jeff McDermott has been reassigned by State Police to serve in East Lyme.

On Wednesday, Feb. 10, Ledyard Mayor Mike Finkelstein presented a proclamation from the Town of Ledyard to Connecticut State Police Sergeant Jeff McDermott, who served as Ledyard’s Resident State Trooper for three years leading up to the establishment of the Ledyard Police Department as an independent municipal police department.

“Sgt. McDermott served the town with professionalism and honor,” the Ledyard Police Department wrote via Facebook.

He has been reassigned by the State Police to serve in East Lyme as its Resident Trooper.

Chief Rich, LT Creutz, SGT Getter, Officer Gagnon, Officer Nott, and Officer Bailey and Officer Long joined the Mayor and Ledyard Town Council in recognizing SGT McDermott for his outstanding service to the Town.

“The men and women of the Ledyard PD and LECC wish him continued success,” the PD wrote.
