No one inside the house was injured but a corner of the house was significantly damaged when the car rolled over the front yard and came to a stop up after breaking through the part of the house that is a guest room and where family members play video games.

Occupants of the vehicle left the scene, police said.

The house belongs to Jennifer and Frankie Novajovski who live there with their sons who are 15- and 17-years-old. Everyone inside the house had retired to bed when the collision occurred, and no one inside the house was injured, according to Mrs. Novajovski.

“My sons said they heard the car revving, squealing and something that sounded like thunder and a big bang,” she said.

The house was deemed unsafe for occupancy by a building inspecter from Groton, according to Mrs. Novajovski, who said the family stayed with a friend overnight. A builder is scheduled to repair the damage by the end of the day.

Investigating Officer Troy Johnson said the markings and evidence at the scene indicate that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, hit the curb and was in the air for about 22-feet before landing on the corner of the Novajovski’s house.

The vehicle slammed into the portion of the house where the computer and video games are used, said Mrs. Novajovski. The family’s 8-year-old dachshund, Toby, was in the room at the time of the accident but Toby is unharmed.

Bloeser was found walking away from the vehicle on Pumpkin Hill Road and was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. The vehicle is registered to Josh A. Gubbs, of Hillside Drive, although he wasn’t the driver, according to Officer Johnson.
