Young bakers teach and learn the art of cooking through library reading program.
Wednesday’s Dream Deserts cooking event let kids and teens work side-by-side doing something that takes a little bit of work and a lot of attention to detail but pays off good in coconut and almond flavor, chocolate and peanut butter flavor or raspberry and lemony chiffon flavor.
The cooking class was open to kids in fourth through sixth grades and it filled up fast. The teens were a big help in guiding the younger kids through the instructions. The group made No Bake Cookies, Chocolate Pudding Cake, Coconut Macaroons and "Pretty in Pink" Chiffon Cake.
