Ledyard Schools Rank Among CT's Top 70

Niche.com recently released its latest list of “2016 Best School Districts in Connecticut.”

The results are based on a variety of metrics, including test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, teacher quality, reviews by students and staff and SAT scores.

Niche.com assigned specific grades to key categories including: academics, extracurricular, resources and facilities, teachers, and even food.

The top 10 reveals that seven of the top rated school districts are in Fairfield County and the other three are from Hartford County.

The top 10 in Connecticut are:

1. Westport
2. New Canaan
3. Wilton
4. Simsbury
5. Greenwich
6. Weston
7. Darien
8. Ridgefield
9. Glastonbury
10. Farmington

• Academics Grade: B+
• Health and Safety Grade: A-
• Parent/Student Surveys on Overall Experience: 3.8 out of 5
• Student Culture and Diversity Grade: B+
• Teachers’ Grade: B

• Extracurriculars and Activities Grade: A-
• Sports and Fitness Grade: B
