Norwich Man Arrested For December Burglary

Police recover some items missing from home on Richard Road.

The Ledyard police department arrested a Norwich man after investigating a residential burglary that occurred in Dec. 2011 on Richard Road in Gales Ferry, according to a press release.

The release says that Barry A. Briggs, 27, of 104 Summit Street in Norwich, was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny.

Briggs allegedly took a large amount of tools, electronics, and household items fro the house. Further investigation conducted by the patrol and detective divisions of the Ledyard police department resulted in the recovery of a large number of the items stolen, according to the release.

Briggs was held on a $50,000 bond and will appear at GA 10 in New London on Feb. 21, 2012.
