School Board Introduces New High School Principal [with VIDEO]

The school hiring board announced Monday that they unanimously and on Wednesday, Superintendent of Schools Michael Graner introduced Fagan to the rest of the board.

“We think that Mrs. Fagan has the academic background, the teaching background and clearly the leadership supports to be the change agent," he said in his introduction. “We know there’s lots of stuff coming down and we think Mrs. Fagan is in a great position to lead our school.”

While everyone agreed that Fagan is highly qualified for the position, Sharon Hightower, the chair of the school board, said that there was more to filling a leadership role than evaluating qualifications and experience.

"It's about fit, and Amanda fit," said Hightower. "I’m sure shes going to serve in this capacity really well. She gets Ledyard and that’s important."
